| Bad driving can take several forms ranging from momentary inattention, which leads to a minor collision, up to a fatal road traffic incident. Legislation is about to be introduced by the government to make this area of law even more complex. Under new legislation, when a road traffic accident occurs and a death is involved, then the starting point for a court will be prison sentences, which can be up to 5 years.
The difference between dangerous driving and careless driving can be minimal, but the consequences grave. We can deal with these cases from the police station through to the Crown Court if necessary and even advise and assist in respect of inquests.
